<p>The UCLA Health System's Compliance Program is all about making right choices and demonstrating to both internal and external customers the organization's continued commitment to making proper and ethical decisions.&nbsp; The Code of Conduct is an integral part of this Compliance Program and&nbsp; reflects the values of the organization.&nbsp; The Health System's ability to further its mission depends upon the capability of all employees to support one another in upholding these values.</p>

<p>UCLA Medical Sciences takes pride in complying with&nbsp; the laws and regulations which govern our activities each day and we know that each of you work very hard to support this effort and "carry the TORCH" for compliance.&nbsp; As a result of new federal legislation, we wanted to advise you of some important information about our compliance program and to provide information to your and all of our contractors and agents regarding the federal false claims act, administrative remedies for false claims and statements, the state false claims act and whistleblower protections under these laws.&nbsp; These laws, including our State Whistleblower Protection laws, play an important role in detecting fraud, waste and abuse in federal health care programs.</p>
